PROJECT SUMMARY

How does surrealist art affect your perception of reality? In this project i drew a surreal room, within the room you might find gravity defying objects, hidden people, trolls, stairs and more. 

WHY?

I did this project because often times people forget what the A in STEAM stands for, art. I felt it was needed to remind people of all elements of STEAM, especially art.

HOW?

I created my project by really focusing on being creative and letting my mind wonder. I tried my best to stay away from rules and not conform to societal normacies.

WHAT?

I was very please with my final drawing because I feel it really captures the concept of surrealism. It ended up having a lot of shading and different objects within the room. 

SO WHAT?

I believe my results are very important especially by submitting them to a STEAM expo because often times people forget what the A in STEAM stands for, art. I felt it was needed to remind people of all elements of STEAM, especially art.

WHAT'S NEXT?

Even though I am extremely pleased with my project there are things I could improve. The first thing I would do differently is adding more depth and color to my piece. If I had added color I feel as if it could have been even more surreal

I got all my ideas in the art classroom, with the help of my art teacher, Miss Fio and of my classmates as well, but most of all I inspired myself to draw this room.

I have been staring at your art piece for a long time, it is amazing. Humans are so fixated on looking down at a screen, they often miss what is around them. Your idea of pushing the boundaries of what we see and how visual we are as humans is fantastic. You could expand on this further by creating the same piece of art but playing with colour to create further thought.
