PROJECT SUMMARY

In my Computer Science class, we had to design and create an app using functions and on-event buttons. Therefore, I decided to create one that helps people choose where to go on vacation by asking about their company and preferred climate. After working during class and outside, I finished my project.

WHY?

I wanted to learn how to use precise loops in my code. Basically, my main goal was to learn how to summarize code and still make it work.

HOW?

On a piece of paper, I sketched out the different screens I wanted, and the if-else statements that made the user change slides. Then, I used the website code.org to make it come to life.

WHAT?

After a lot of trial and error, I named variables and created my function. The function included a conditional statement that gave users vacation recommendations.

SO WHAT?

I believe that my results are the data at the end of the app. It is important because it helps people choose where to go on vacation. I learned how to create loops and make them work correctly.

WHAT'S NEXT?

I could make my code more precise by using loops, in order to shorten it.

I worked with S. B., organizing our data and opinions. Ms. Lederman helped me complete the application as well.

JUDGES FEEDBACK

Many people now live such busy lives and having to search for a long time, through many different options for a holiday can cause stress and issues. However, your idea for an app to save time and make this search easier is brilliant. Your idea and coding is very well thought out and is a great starting point for something that coould be expanded in so many ways. You could include seasonal information so that people looking for holidays in the long term can know where will be hot and where will be cold etc
