PROJECT SUMMARY
In this project, my partner and I decided to create a launching device, but in a creative way, and analyze the forces behind it.
WHY?
We did the project in that way because we found it interesting but simple in the same way. We were trying to solve the perfect curve between power and accuracy in our project.
HOW?
We tried several times trying to get the correct proportion of length, accuracy, and power, lots of times our project broke because of incorrect calculations and we had to invert new things.
WHAT?
We found out that doing the project in a more simple way, more creative, and more accessible was the correct way to solve most of our starting problems. The prototype has rubber bands that are used as thrusters to make the ball travel faster and with a great force.
SO WHAT?
Our results are important because they show that not always the common way is better, the creative way can be better. The conclusion I can draw from my results is that if we think a lit bit more, we can create fabulous projects that work really well. I learned from our results that doing something unusual could be better than the common one.
WHAT'S NEXT?
We can add something to aim better, more advanced, and technologically. The project could be more precise but less entertaining if it was sitting on the ground. The next steps are to add more rubber bands and wood to make it more stable.
REFERENCES & ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
We got our information and ideas through joint thinking with my team partner; we decided to do something different that can stand out from others and draw attention.
JUDGES FEEDBACK
There is a lot of good evidence of teamwork, collaboration and sciencetific investigation in this project. Great job on documenting some of the changes you made. Often, as you saw, a simple design can be the most effective. I am wondering what forces/changes/designs helped with accuracy and which helped with power. Were they the same, or competing designs? As you continue to explore the world around you and engage in steam related activies, always document your process and provide examples of the results. Keep up the good work!
