PROJECT SUMMARY
Our problem was making a catapult that could throw a ball as far away as possible. We first researched on the topic and then modified a model to be able to use the materials at hand. We made a successful prototype which we were later going to dilate and create a human size version.
WHY?
I did this project because of engineering design. We were trying to make a prototype of a catapult that could throw a long distance.
HOW?
We looked up other models people had made previously. With those findings we made sketches of our idea and then later on created our prototype.
WHAT?
We found out that if we use plastic it creates less friction and this helps with how our prototype works. The prototype works by spinning on a rod and flinging the ball when wight is dropped on it.
SO WHAT?
They are important because they help us learn about physics in a way. The project helped us better understand friction and motion.
WHAT'S NEXT?
We could make a bigger version and see if it works as effectively. It could use weights instead of the hand motions that we used before, so it is fully autonomous.

JUDGES FEEDBACK
Very cool catapult and design prototype! Great idea to use plastic for less friction. I would love to see you take your design on a larger scale and see if the same design works well or needs modifications.
