PROJECT SUMMARY

In 2022, I visited Seoul, Korea with my family to see our other family members so, we went out uncle's house. He worked for Samsung and was head of technology section. So one day, I went to his office and it was lunch time so, all the workers started to research nearby restaurant because they always hesitated what to eat. As a result, I wanted to make an app of food selector to reduce the time of hesitating. So I used Javascript to create the app and data from code.org of various famous fast food restaurant.

WHY?

I created an app "Fastie Foodie Picker", because I wanted to help people especially busy workers, who hesitates to select food and not wasting time by thinking what food to eat. As a result, I made this to reduce their time of selecting.

HOW?

I created my project by using Javascript and we've learned about selection, iteration, sequencing and data from various famous restaurant, which informed about companies' name and the name of the food.

WHAT?

I found out that most of the users picked McDonalds and Subways, which I expected because in McDonalds they prepare their meals less than 5 minutes and Subway you just select the ingredients to eat which,  makes the consumers to save time.

SO WHAT?

This result was important only for McDonalds and Subway because a lot of workers/employers picked those 2 fast food restaurant for their meal. As a result, with this result they could expand their restaurant in capital of the country or commercial area.

WHAT'S NEXT?

I could extend my project by adding more restaurants in the select sector. I could have done differently by adding GPS service in my app. I could improve my project putting a nearest restaurant so, workers do not have to waste their time. My next steps are to add more restaurants and create a new screen for my restaurant's location.

REFERENCES & ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

I got information from code.org's data. My current project idea was sort of mixed idea with Mrs.L (70% mine 30% Mrs.L). My Ap computer science teacher (Mrs.L) supported me. My ideas came from my uncle, who lives in Korea and works in Samsung.

JUDGES FEEDBACK

A app with a clear purpose is always a great place to start. Your creation story and process are very clear and the feedback data really shows that you are improving the app based on user feedback. A suggest would be to either work on the interface component to make it more visibly pleasing or the coding aspect such as the GPS (that you mention).
