PROJECT SUMMARY

In our semester 1 in AP Art, there was a project called "Art in public spaces," where our goal was to have people interact with our art pieces. I am in love with watercolor art because of the colors are able to blend and create infinite colors. I wanted students to look at my art, stop for a second and have a chance to appreciate nature surrounding them.

WHY?

I decided to paint nature with watercolor because I am in love with the dephness and perspectives there is to nature. One can never do enough to appreciate the bueaty of a calming scenery.

HOW?

Usually, what I do for my pices I just flow and trust the process fof my work. However, to make the most interaction to the art I decided to take pictures of school and draw them. So, some of my art pieces are a replica of a picture I took of the school schenery.

WHAT?

Some images I find it hard to replicate with watercolor, not even the finest materials are enough to copy or mimic nature. Nature should be depicted through the eyes.

SO WHAT?

Sadly, because of the rainy weather conditions and school activities, we werent able to display my artpieces to people.

WHAT'S NEXT?

I would really like to try next year, involving more people, and creating a more reunited community through art. For example making a clay piece where seniors leave a phrase they like or even making a teacher related art piece, to show them the aprpeciation they deserve.

JUDGES FEEDBACK

Beautiful watercolor paintings! It's magical to see the pictures from campus turn into the art, and see a different perspective. I think a public installation is a great idea, and it's not too late! Give it a go!
